After George Floyd’s death, my children and I attended a protest in Nashville.  I’d never done anything like that before, and it was invigorating and empowering to be side-by-side with my Ethiopian daughter – speaking out against such grave injustice.  This painting, to me, captures the vibrancy of that march and of those countless streets across the globe that were trodden by broken hearted people hoping for a better future for our nation.
