When my husband David French deliberated about running for President, I was terrified. I didn’t want the public to know about my past sexual abuse.  In this painting, I depicted how I attempted to cover the darkness with more colorful parts of my life and personality.  But during these deliberations, I felt exposed and vulnerable… as all of the parts suddenly ran together.  The good news is that, turns out, I didn’t have to hide at all.
